The journey to attract capital for transportation infrastructure

The Institute of Organic Agricultural Economics and the Ministry of Transport and VIPD Group work together to promote investment with Greenland Group.

Hanoi, April 8 and 9, 2018

To concretize the cooperation program on strategic research and investment promotion signed between the Institute of Transport Development and Strategy under the Ministry of Transport, the Institute of Organic Agricultural Economics (IOAE), Vietnam Infrastructure and Property Development Group (VIPD Group), Saigon-Gia Dinh Real Estate Joint Stock Company, Sunny World Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, relevant units have continued researching investment and promoting investment on significant projects of transport infrastructure with Greenland in Hanoi. The program takes place on April 8th and 9th, 2018.

The April 8th afternoon, at Daewoo hotel, representatives of Greenland, VIPD Sunny World, Vintage, SGGD and IOAE discussed in detail the projects that Greenland is interested in and take priority in the coming years.

On the morning of 9th April, Mr. Le Do Muoi – Deputy Director of Institute of Transport Development and Strategy attended the meeting and gave detailed answers to the questions related to the projects that investors are interested in and  prepared for meeting with the Minister of Transport in the same afternoon.

On the afternoon of April 9, at 16:00, at the meeting room of the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Minister Nguyen Nhat and his leaders, officials from the departments of the Ministry of Transport (PPP, Planning and Investment, International Cooperation, Roads, Railways, Aviation, Sealine, Maritime, Strategic Institute) welcomed the delegation and exchanged views on the urgent needs of Vietnam in attracting domestic and foreign private capital. From then, seeking for investment in national projects points and regions projects and localities throughout the country.

After investors introduced his organization, leader of Greenland exchanged more detailed information that needs instructions and support from the Ministry of Transport. Simultaneously, VIPD Group leaders also exchanged information related to investment desire of investors in linked groups.

Vice Minister Nguyen Nhat answered the questions and encouraged foreign investors to coordinate with local investors to maximize local area’s advantages and minimize problems faced by foreign investors as well as slow the investment process in each project.

He also suggested that Leader of VIPD Group should represent for the investor group to write a report and send a formal request to the Ministry of Transport so that the Ministry’s leaders could answer and appoint officially supporting units for investors.

He also directed the Transport Development and Strategy Institute, IOAE and venture of VIPD Group, Sunny World and Saigon Gia Dinh to implement the signed agreements on strategic research and investment promotion, to attract funds for transportation infrastructure development in Vietnam in according to instructions from the Prime Minister, and to prepare for the conference on attracting capital for national transport infrastructure development.
