On the evening of April 27, Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee in cooperation with Dau An Viet Nam Company opens the program “Displaying and Introducing Typical Products of Dong Thap Province” at The Garden Mall, No. 190 Hong Bang, Ward 12, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City. The event lasts until April 29, 2018, bringing together many enterprises and craft villages to introduce the characteristics of Dong Thap.
In a space decorated as corners of a familiar market, visitors can enjoy many famous specialties of Dong Thap such as banh bo (Vietnamese steamed rice cakes), banh duc (Vietnamese plain rice flan), lotus tea …and be immersed in such a cultural atmosphere of the traditional craft villages like Sa Dec flower village, Dinh Yen mat craft village, Thap Muoi broom craft village, Lai Vung boat making village and enjoy the special performances typical of the river area such as Southern Amateur Music, “Dem Hoa Le” Program, “Am Vang Dat Nuoc” Program by artists of Dong Thap Delegation and Cholon Theater. Thereby, visitors can understand more about the life style and working style of people in Dong Thap Muoi.
At the exhibition on April 28, Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with Dong Thap Province’s Department of Industry and Trade held the conference “Connecting Supply and Demand, Introducing Dong Thap’s Typical Products in Ho Chi Minh City”. The program is a bridge enterprises in Dong Thap and Ho Chi Minh City to meet each other, and thus promote trade between economic regions.
The conference pointed out the difficulties from agricultural products supply to delivery to markets. After the conference, the parties signed agreements to bring Dong Thap agricultural products to supermarkets, shops and wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City.
Dong Thap’s enterprises commit to strictly comply with VietGap and GlobalGap standards and food hygiene and safety regulations in producing and processing to ensure a quality and stable supply for the market. Accordingly, Dong Thap’s enterprises would like to continue expanding the market, making more capital, and transfering technology to better serve the production process.
